This is our signature treatment! Lift, define and rejuvenate your face! Hyaluronic acid fillers will be used to add volume, smooth and reshape your face with the goal of achieving facial balancing. This treatment may incorporate cheek, chin, jawline, nasolabial folds, lips, tear troughs and temples to restore harmony. It is completely customized to your anatomy and aesthetic goals. Average amount used is 2-6 syringes. Common fillers used include Juvederm Voluma, Vollure, Volux, Ultra Plus, Ultra, and/or Volbella.
Cheek Injections
Hyaluronic acid filler lifts and contours the face. This minimizes the nasolabial folds and laugh lines. Average amount used is 2-4 syringes of Juvederm Voluma and Vollure.
Chin Injections
Filler is used to rejuvenate, contour and define your profile when injected into the chin. This shapes the face, gives definition and facial balancing. This treatment can also treat a cleft chin. Average amount used is 1-4 syringes of Juvederm Voluma, Volux, Vollure, and Ultra.
Jawline Injections

Define your chin and jawline while creating facial balance. Most individuals benefit from lifting with cheek filler prior to this treatment. Average amount used is 2-5 syringes of Juvederm Voluma, Volux, and Ultra..
Lip Injections
Whether you are looking to rejuvenate and hydrate your lips or want to build structure, volume and pout, we are confident we can achieve your lips goals. One syringe of Juvederm Ultra or Volbella is used for lips per treatment session.
Hand Injections
There are a few areas on the body that may reveal our age, the hands being one of them. Wrinkles, veins, and lack of fullness contribute to hand age. Over time, we lose volume and collagen in our hands. By injecting hyaluronic acid into the hands, we can restore a more youthful appearance. Average amount used is 1-2 syringes per hand of Juvederm Voluma, Vollure, or Ultra Plus.
Earlobe Injections
Dermal filler can also be used to rejuvenate earlobes that have deflated over time with aging or from wearing heavy earrings. Average amount used is 1-2 syringes.
Why fillers?
As we age our skin drapes differently across our faces, structures shrink and descend with gravity as we lose volume, and bone is reabsorbed. This is the pathophysiology of aging. The fat pads deflate as the body slows down its' production of collagen and elastin. As this occurs, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and jowls appear. The skin becomes more elastic and can appear saggy or droopy. Our faces appear longer, our eyes look sad, the mouth may turndown looking sad or angry, and overall, we look tired. All faces sink, sag, and wrinkle. And we do not age symmetrically. We have bony remodeling, volume loss, and skin changes that need to considered in an individualized treatment plan.
While we may not feel tired, sometimes our faces appear to tell a different story. The world can develop a different perception of us when our outsides don’t match our insides. In the modern world of aesthetic medicine, profile balancing has become the standard of care.

We value symmetry, balance and harmony over the sum of the parts. It is all about subtle enhancements. The best work is undetectable. You cannot pick out one specific thing that has changed on the face. You still look like you, only refreshed.
Dermal filler is used to finesse the facial framework and refine facial shaping. Ligaments are supported and facial volume is repositioned to harmonize the face and create structural beauty. Restorative treatments respect patient’s unique anatomy, genetics, and ethnicity. Dermal fillers can be used in the following treatment areas: temples, cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionettes, chin, jawline, lips, hands, necks, and earlobes.
Our faces allow us to interact & connect with the world around us. Injectables don’t just smooth lines and restore volume loss, but they augment our confidence, enrich our human relationships, & refresh our perspectives.

FAQ
How long does the procedure take?
Your dermal filler appointment with Skin Synthesis will take upwards of 1 hour, depending on the areas treated. During your appointment, you will create a bespoke treatment plan with your provider, take before photos, and then it is time for injection!
Is it painful?
There are areas of the face that are more painful than others (such as the lips which we numb with topical anesthetic). Most injections are not particularly painful but instead you may experience a temporary pressure sensation.
How long is the recovery?
Dermal fillers are fairly instant gratification. You will immediately see results. That being said, it’s normal to experience some transient swelling and/or bruising which impairs the aesthetic initially. It takes 2-4 weeks for your filler to settle and fully integrate into your tissues. You can expect the full recovery time to vary patient to patient, but common effects from filler treatments include bruising, swelling, redness, and tenderness around the injection site, all of which will resolve after a few days to a week. Many patients resume their normal life immediately after treatment. There is no “downtime.”
What results can I expect?
The goal of dermal filler is to lift, define, volumize, and rejuvenate. By strategically adding volume, we smooth, balance, reshape the face, and ultimately restore facial harmony.
Do I need more than one treatment?
Dependent upon your treatment plan, you may want/need more than one treatment session to meet your goals. Skin Synthesis specializes in a natural aesthetic and we often recommend a conservative treatment strategy over time for optimal results. Many products last up to 12-18 months. This effect varies depending on general health, diet, smoking habits, type of skin, areas injected, the technique used during injection, and the amount of product injected.
Am I a good candidate?
Dermal filler is contraindicated for pregnant or breastfeeding women. We recommend you wait 2-4 weeks after any acute illness or vaccination to receive treatment to reduce the risk of complications. If you have an allergy to bacterial proteins, you are not a candidate for this treatment. If you have an autoimmune condition, we recommend you discuss this with your aesthetic provider to ensure the best filler product/s are selected for your health. For those with a history of cold sores, we recommend pre-treatment with an antiviral medication to prevent an outbreak (which we can provide).
