What is SKINVIVE™
SKINVIVE™ is the first of its kind! Distinguished as a "skin booster," it's hyaluronic acid that's injected as microdroplets below the surface of the skin that focuses on skin hydration rather than volume repletion. SKINVIVE™ is a modified form of hyaluronic acid that helps the skin retain its natural moisture, which improves skin smoothness, hydration and overall radiance. Hello, GLOW!
Unlike other hyaluronic acid fillers like JUVÉDERM® which are used for volume restoration, support, and facial contouring, SKINVIVE™ has a uniquely different purpose. Water and glycerol transporting membrane proteins are expressed in the dermis with aquaporin 3 (AQP3) which increases hydration in the skin. SKINVIVE™ is all about enhancing your skin's radiance and brilliance without changing what makes your face uniquely yours.

FAQ
How long does the procedure take?
Your SKINVIVE™ appointment with Skin Synthesis is quick and easy (30 minutes) and can be easily added on to other injectable services. During this time, your face will be cleansed, before photos taken, and then your provider will create a grid on each cheek to serve as a precise template for the injection administration. About 25-50 superficial droplet injections per cheek will be delicately administered, diffusing into an even layer. The entire appointment typically takes 30 minutes, with the actual injections lasting 15 minutes.
Is it painful?
Many say it feels like a little pinch. The needles used for injection are small. We have some fun distraction techniques to hopefully make it an easy experience for you but Pro-Nox (laughing gas) is also available to keep you comfortable.
How long is the recovery?
After the treatment, you may experience injection site redness, swelling, lumps/bumps, pinpoint bruising, tenderness, discoloration and itching that may last for the 24-48 hours. You'll begin to observe desirable results at 1-2 weeks, with the peak effect typically occurring around one month, and these results last six months.
No dental procedures for 3 weeks, no vaccinations for 2 weeks.
What results can I expect?
SKINVIVE™ increases hydration to improve skin smoothness and radiance. Optimal results are visualized at one month post injection. In clinical trials, patients treated with SKINVIVE™ reported higher satisfaction with how glowing, hydrated, refreshed, and healthy their skin looked with retreatment at 6 months. Individual results may vary based on skincare routines, genetics, and other treatments.
How can I prepare for treatment?
Just like most facial injections, the primary side effects typically involve bruising and swelling, which is why it's crucial to steer clear of any blood-thinning medications. We recommend that our clients refrain from taking medications and supplements known to thin the blood, including aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, vitamin E, and fish oil, for at least 7 days before their scheduled appointment. Avoid drinking alcohol for 7 days leading up to your treatment; it contributes to thinning the blood and can worsen bruising/swelling.
Am I a good candidate?
SKINVIVE™ is contraindicated for pregnant or breastfeeding women. We recommend you wait 2-4 weeks after any acute illness or vaccination to receive treatment to reduce the risk of complications. If you have an allergy to bacterial proteins, you are not a candidate for this treatment. If you have an autoimmune condition, we recommend you discuss this with your aesthetic provider to ensure the best filler product/s are selected for your health. For those with a history of cold sores, we recommend pre-treatment with an antiviral medication to prevent an outbreak (which we can provide).
